Earthquake Engineering with emphasis on :
Experimental part
- Experimental and/or analytical research of the response of Reinforced Concrete structural elements under seismic loading
- Experimental and/or analytical research of the response of repaired and/or strengthened R/C structural elements, by the use of steel, glass or carbon reinforced polymers.
- Experimental research of the response of jacketed or reinforced masonry walls.
- In situ instrumentation and measurement of the response of important structures (buildings, bridges) for the evaluation of their dynamic response.
- Evaluation, check and in-situ measurements of monumental and other cultural heritage buildings for the recognition of the structural response and for structural upgrade.
Analytical part
- Analytical model composition of monumental brick or stone masonry buildings for the elastic or inelastic analysis under permanent and/or seismic loads.
- Modern inelastic methods for the seismic evaluation and the seismic design of important structures by the use of performance-based design, pushover and nonlinear dynamic techniques.
Academic, Research and Professional Activity
- Designer and superintendent for new and existing buildings and special structures. In situ examination and verification of water pipes, deposites, special roofs etc. (1990- today).
- Contribution to the work of Technical Chamber of Greece. Participation in permanent committees, working groups, fact finder and examiner for new civil engineers.
- Post diploma exhibitioner at the Reinforced Concrete Laboratory of A.U.Th. 1991-1995.
- Teaching assistant personnel and contribution on diploma thesis studies during 1991-1998 at the Reinforced Concrete Laboratory of A.U.Th.
- Member in two PhD examination committees and in one PhD advisory committee in A.U.Th.
